After struggling with health conditions effecting my mobility and balance, VA Dogs was able to match me with a service animal that helps with both. I was matched with Darby and he changed my life. With his assistance I have been able to regain mobility and resume activities that had become difficult.
From daily tasks with public access, healthcare appointments, social activities and traveling, Darby is by my side to assist me. Darby helps guide me and keep my balance, wears a counter-balance harness to help me keep me from falling and will rescue me if I do. Darby is so well trained and has a great temperament. He’s got quite the fan club from our travels.

Caleb and his team are great to work with, and I took Darby home with confidence in his abilities. It has been reassuring to me to know that VA Dogs will be there if I have a new training need for Darby, or even a refresher. I am grateful to VA Dogs, Caleb and his team for Darby. The training and support they provide for the animals, and veteran handlers, is top notch. Thank you will never be enough. Having Darby with me has improved my health and truly made life better.
